PEACOCK AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The long awaited
results of the National Quality Award instituted by the Institutes
of Director on the pattern of the Malcolm Baldrige Awards in USA
for outstanding achievements in the pursuit of Quality of a product,
process or service have been announced.
Grasiline Division
(Grasim Industries Ltd.) Haveri Dist a major manufacturer of manmade
fivre has been declared the National Quality Award winner for 2002.
The panel of
judges was headed by justice Ahmedi, former Chief Justice of India,
Lord Swaraj Paul Chairman Caparo Group UK, IIMS Rana chairman Railway
Board and Dr. Madhav Mehra Chairman World Quality Council and the
President WCFCG besides other persons of eminence.
The following
companies are the award winners in various categories for achieving
excellence through pursuit of Quality in their respective sectors.
The awards are
presented in World Congress on Total Quality, a major quality event
organized by the Institute of Directors, where the winners being
declared after rigorous assessment of each organisation’s
entry based upon the criteria led down by independent refeeries
and final selection by the Awards jury.
The award for
the entertainment industry, which was instituted in 2002 for the
first time were won by Rajshri Production for Excellence in Management
in the production of films on the large screen and Balaji Tele films
in the Television category.
The various
awards were presented to the winners at the inaugural session of
13th World Congress by Dr.Sahib Singh, Union Minster for Labour
on 14th February 2003, at Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel, Mumbai.
